WORD FACTORY PRESENTS:
Sublime Women, a celebration of classic and contemporary short story writers.
Acclaimed historian, mythographer, novelist and short story writer Marina Warner continues our 2016 Sublime Women programme with an exclusive masterclass exploring re-tellings and re-visionings in short fiction. Drawing on the work of Angela Carter, with reference to Jorge Luis Borges and Helen Simpson, Marina will encourage reflection and writing on myth within the group and discuss these processes in relation to her recent collection, Fly Away Home. There will be time to work on short exercises and discuss particular texts.
Whether you are drawn to write fairy tales and magical realism or to read highly wrought works of imagination, this session will stimulate your understanding and appreciation.
Class limited to 15 places.
DON'T MISS THE EVENING SALON
An evening of mythical reading and conversation, this is a unique change to hear mythologist Marina Warner discussing the place and power of story with Joanna Walsh and Dubravka Ugresic.
