About this event
Invitation to the Cornwall Wildlife Trust
Marine Strandings Network Forum
Saturday 12th March 2022
Online and in person at Truro College, Threemilestone
We're pleased to invite you to join us for the Marine Strandings Network Forum. This event offers a unique opportunity to hear about the work being carried out by the Marine Strandings Network in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, as well as UK-wide by the Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme and by colleagues working in similar fields.
As in previous years, we are focusing on work from across the Cornish and UK Strandings Networks with some interesting stranding events and research.
Among the presentations will be:
- Seven years of seal PMs at the ESI: what have we learnt, James Barnett - MSN Pathologist
- Cetaceans as sentinels for informing climate change policy in UK waters, Michael Williamson - Institute for Zoology
- Examining the Bizarre: Ocean sunfish dissection & protection - Natasha Philips - Marine Biologist and film maker at Swimming Head Productions
- The story of Danny the Dolphin, Rob Deaville - Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme
THIS IS A HYBRID EVENT. People may attend in person or online on the day.
The cost of attending the Forum is £16 per person and £6 online. Lunch and refreshments are included with the in-person ticket.
If you’d like to join us, please book your ticket via this Eventbrite page.
Booking: Attendance is by pre-booking only via the Eventbrite listing.
We regret that you cannot pay on the day. Priority will be given to CWT MSN volunteers if we are over-subscribed. Please note that the closing date for registration is Wednesday 9th March 2022 at midnight. We will send you an email with the Forum Programme and a map of the venue just before the event on Thursday 10th March 2022.
We look forward to seeing you for what promises to be a full and fascinating day.
