Mark Bolsover: In Failure and In Ruins
Fri 2 June 2017, 18:00 – 20:00 BST
Blackwell's Bookshop is delighted to host the launch for IN FAILURE & IN RUINS—dreams & fragments, the debut Chapbook by Mark Bolsover, published by Into the Void (Dublin & Toronto).
About the Chapbook
IN FAILURE & IN RUINS is a short collection of psychological realist experimental prose-poetry.
Unified by the interior monologue of an unnamed narrator, the fragments of direct experiences and of dreams hint at this narrator’s relationship to a young woman, who remains, nonetheless, only ever elusive and enigmatic.
The narrator’s frustration in regard to this relationship sets a more pervasive tone, the pieces articulating moments of frustration, failure, and loss—of moments, opportunities, contact, and of persons lost… —attempting to hold experience back, against failure and ruin. …
