The Meetings Industry Association would like to invite you to this social media seminar aimed at giving you insights into how to build your sales and your brand using social media.

Join Mark McCulloch, founder and group Chief Executive of WE ARE Spectacular for a social media session that will give you the lowdown on what is coming down the track in social media, what you need to be focusing on to convince your board to spend more on social and to give you confidence that you are doing the right thing.

Programme:

1.30pm – 1.50pm: Think you know Social Media? – The social media game has changed. You will be introduced to the channels, their purpose and the new social media landscape. The theme for the session is “be brave, question everything, nuke your current marketing plan and start marketing where your customers’ attention really is”.

1.50pm – 2.20pm: Instagram – How you can hashtag your way to making thousands of pounds from your Instagram feed and “stupid photos of people’s dinner”. Here we will cover all you need to know about Instagram and Instagram stories, including how to grab attention by being more “grammable”.

2.20pm – 2.50pm: Facebook – Chances are, you and your teams are putting lots of effort in without the right strategy in place. This section will cover Facebook’s place in the world these days, how to still win on there and, most importantly, how to drive sales through content marketing, plus top tips on how to build your organic audience and engagement.

2.50pm – 3.20pm: Social Media Advertising – The social media platforms we all know and use daily are where most people’s attention is (B2C and B2B and from millennials to baby boomers and back again). The level to which you can target potential customers with the right message at the right time has never been so exciting or accurate. Learn what the possibilities are and why you should shift some of your marketing spend from some of the less effective channels to being “all in” when it comes to social media advertising.

Mark has 18 years experience in brand, marketing, digital, social and PR. He started life at the British music magazines (marketing them to students), then worked in agencies back in 2002 before switching to client side at lastminute.com where he rose to Head of Brand, then moved to senior positions at Barclaycard, YO! Sushi, Blinkbox Music & Pret A Manger.

Mark wanted to create a new wave agency solely made up of senior experts where they focused on branding, marketing, digital and social, this is how WE ARE Spectacular was born.
