Marketing your accessibility - how to make the most of the purple pound!
Thu 6 July 2017, 09:30 – 16:30 BST
So many businesses in the area have accessible facilties and yet they keep the information to themselves! Join us on this FREE workshop to find out new and inspirational ideas of how to market your facilities so that you attract the attention of the people who need it most and get your share of the "purple pound"
There are around 11 million disabled people in the UK spending £12.1 billion per annum on day trips, short breaks and longer holidays: spending power known as ‘The Purple Pound.’ Yet, even with an understanding of the needs of this market, reaching, attracting and retaining disabled guests isn’t always an easy task.
This unique, one day workshop is designed to give you all the descriptive, marketing, networking and promotional tools you need to get this right for your business and your guests.
Our Accessibility Awareness programme is delivered by the Accessible Provider: The Training Company: A Derbyshire-based company who specialise in all aspects of accessibility awareness training and access auditing across the UK.
With disabled children of their own as well as being founders of a multi award-winning accessible tourism charity, Accessible Derbyshire, company Directors Gillian Scotford and Jane Carver also have professional backgrounds in training and development and healthcare provision.
This workshop is free for visitor economy businesses based in Derbyshire to attend as it is funded by the European Regional Development Fund through our Developing and Growing the Visitor Economy within Derbyshire project. Attendance will require you to compete an eligibility application form prior to attendance. By booking on to the workshop you are agreeing to attend, should you be unable to attend, failure to cancel your booking within 48 hours of the workshop will result in us invoicing you for £250 + VAT per person; the commercial cost of the session.
