Description

An organic seasonal vegetarian cooking class with Chef Luca Gatti at Entre Col y Col, with a mini tour of Mercado Barcelo

You will:

  • Have a 1.5 hour cooking class, in which you will participate and get to eat what you have cooked.
  • You will learn about seasonal ingredients and how to match different flavours together to up your vegetable cooking game.
  • Visit one of the best markets in Madrid, Mercado Barcelo, and learn about their produce, where it comes from and why the stall owners do what they do.

Meet at the main entrance to Mercado Barcelo (close to Tribunal station). At 12.30 we will have a cooking class in the market at Entre Col y Col for 1.5 hours. You will then have time to explore the market for yourselves before it closes at 3pm.

Price: 32 Euros (34.81 Euros including booking fee) includes cooking class, ingredients and tour.

Class size: Maximum of 8 people

Entre Col y Col was started by owner Javier 3 years ago. Javier says: “Our aim in developing Entre Col y Col was to sell organic products to allow people to see that environment and health go and in hand. We now work with 4 or 5 organic farms and have a restaurant at the stall – we want to show people how to transform vegetables into delicious meals, the easiest way possible, so people can see that living and eating healthily does not mean just salads”

Chef Luca Gatti grew up in the North of Italy surrounded by his baker grandfather’s bread and foccacias. He has worked across Europe in restaurants in Italy, Holland, the UK and Spain and became a sous chef in a Michelin-starred restaurant at the age of 19. Luca is passionate about blending artisanal and modern techniques to create delicious food, that holds the origin of the product as a central focus. Luca splits his time between the Entre Col y Col restaurant and works as a chef at the Italian Embassy.
