Event description

Description

If you’re interested in developing a project to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War in 2018, and would like to discuss ideas and potential collaborations with others, the Legacies of War team would love to see you at our workshop day at the University of Leeds on Wednesday 6th September, 11.30am-3pm. There will be short presentations from West Yorkshire Archive Service and Leeds Museums and Galleries about their centenary work, and from colleagues at the University about aspects of their research and university collections that relate to the period, as well as an exclusive chance to see items from our collections.

The Legacies of War Centenary project is run by colleagues at the University of Leeds who have research interests in different aspects of the First World War. We’ve been participating in and helping to coordinate a series of events and activities that are taking place across Leeds in 2014-18 in theatres, cinemas, museums, galleries and at the University. These events commemorate and explore different histories of the First World War, and examine its multiple historical, cultural and social legacies.
