Event description

Description

Blackwell's are delighted to announce that throughout the Oxford Literary Festival, Saturday 25th March- Sunday 2nd April, we will be hosting a series of 'Marquee Moments' free talks in our Blackwell's Festival Marquee. Guest speakers will introduce the topic of their book in a brief 30 minute talk that is free to attend.

We are pleased to welcome to the Marquee Kieron Winn, local poet whose book 'The Mortal Man' was reviewed by Bernard O'Donoghue as 'Kieron Winn’s poems have the unmistakable ring of the real thing. And once they have got to you, you never forget their combination of exact emotion with perfect form'. It is his first poetry collection, which ranges from the Lake District to Rome, from the 18th century to the 21st century, his poems revel in the particularly of people and places, and look for the sources of delight in human consciousness.

The Blackwell's Festival Marquee will be located in the Clarendon Quad of the Bodleian Library. This event is free to attend and everyone is welcome. Seating is limited for all talks in the marquee, so please arrive early to ensure a seat. If you require any assistance please contact us at events.oxford@blackwell.co.uk.
