Regarded as one of the most significant talents to emerge in the world of Irish traditional music, Martin Hayes brings his unique sound to the historic St Columb’s Hall for an unforgettable night as part of Féile 2025. Hayes has collaborated with many extraordinary musicians in the classical, folk and contemporary music worlds throughout his career including Dennis Cahill, Bill Frisell, and the RTE Concert Orchestra. He founded the seminal Irish American band, The Gloaming who received the prestigious Meteor Prize in 2014 for their debut album. The renowned fiddler’s soulful interpretations of traditional Irish music are recognized the world over and he has been captivating audiences with his unique ability to place the tradition within a wider contemporary context, creating a unique and insightful interpretation of Irish music.
Support from Gemma Doherty, Derry-born composer, harpist and singer. Currently working on her first solo album, she combines contemporary with experimental Irish folk/traditional, centering around the harp with electronics and effects. As one half of electronic-folk duo Saint Sister, she has released two critically acclaimed albums - receiving Best Album in N.I. Music Prize and nominations for Album of the Year in Choice Music Prize and RTÉ Folk Awards.
