Event description

Description

This year, at the Be Curious event, (which takes place at the University of Leeds on 30th March 2019 10am-4pm) we will be hosting a family friendly performance by Marty Jopson, the BBC One Show’s resident scientist. Marty will be taking us on a journey from everyday life, down into the realm of microscopical wonders.

The adventure begins with things you can almost see but soon you will find yourself in a world totally invisible to the unaided eye. Marty will take you from the very beginnings of microscopy, through hugely magnified insects, bacteria and plants to the most up to date fluorescent techniques demonstrated live on the stage. A show not just full of stunning images, but interactive demonstrations and samples harvested from the audience. You have been warned! There will also be hands on demonstrations which you can take part in before and after the performance at Be Curious.

Tickets for the performance are free (max. 4 per person) but spaces are limited, so make sure you register as soon as possible.

Please bring your registration confirmation to Parkinson Court between 10-12pm on Saturday 30 March, and we will exchange it for a ticket.

We look forward to seeing you at Be Curious!
