About this event

'I used to have a learning disability but I don't have one any more'

Welcome to the world of Neil Baldwin, who doesn't recognise the labels that other people put on him. Neils autobiography, 'Marvellous' was made into a film starring Toby Jones. (Scroll down to join our Watch Party on 20 October!)

Neil has been a clown, a kit man for Stoke City FC, freeman of the city of Stoke-on-Trent and, due to his voluntary work at Keele University, has an honorary degree.

We shall be chatting with Neil and his friend Malcolm Clarke about his life and what he can teach us - as an academic network - about how to educate students about enabling people to live life to the full; helping them to defy the expectations placed upon them by others. How can we focus on and promote abilities, skills and strengths?

What will happen? What will he say? It's likely to be unpredictable and challenging!

To join our Watch Party and chat with us about this film live, 8pm 20th October

I shall send you a link at 7.45pm on 20th October

Heather Henry, Queen's Nurse and HCAN organiser

Compatible devices for Watch Party playback include desktop browsers (except Apple Safari and Internet Explorer), and on FireTV devices, exclusively in the Prime Video app. In order to host or join a Watch Party on a FireTV device, you first must open the Prime Video app. Playback is not supported on mobile devices, but the latest version of the Prime Video app on your mobile device supports Watch Party chat and makes it easier to share a link to your Watch Party with family and friends.

What is required to start or join a Prime Video Watch Party?

To participate in a Watch Party, you must (i) have access to the title via a Prime membership or Prime Video subscription or (ii) have rented or purchased the applicable title. If hosting a Watch Party with rented or purchased content, every participant will also need to buy or rent the video, similar to watching it on their own. As a host, to start a Watch Party on a FireTV device, you will need to open the Prime Video app on the FireTV device to begin the Watch Party. If you have the latest version of the Prime Video app installed on your mobile device, you can share a link to your Watch Party and chat with other participants on your phone.
