The lecture will be recorded and released via the Methodist Women in Britain YouTube channel later in the year.
Why is it called the Mary Bosanquet Lecture?
Mary Bosanquet Fletcher (1739 to 1815) was an English preacher credited with persuading John Wesley, a founder of Methodism, to allow women to preach in public. She was involved in charity work throughout her life and became the most popular female preachers of that time. We felt that it was a fitting tribute to this great Methodist woman to host a lecture in her name.
