Mary Ward and the Mystery of the Painted Life- with Sr Patricia Harriss CJ
Event Information
About this Event
In the Living Heritage Centre at the Bar Convent a whole wall is given to a series of fifty pictures known as ‘The Painted Life’ of Mary Ward, Yorkshire-born founder of the religious congregation to which the house belongs.
What is the story told by these pictures? When were they painted? Who commissioned them, and why? Who were the artists?
Sr. Patricia Harriss CJ will look at these questions, and the paintings themselves, in a Zoomed talk on Thursday 28th January 2021, 2p.m. – 3.15 p.m.
