About this event

Following the Sarah Everard case, and highlighting of countless others, men have rightly been asking what more they can do.

Recently, the Gender Equality Network (GEN) hosted a discussion group entitled ‘What can men do?”. This was a men-only event aimed at bringing into focus the ways in which men can take an active role in tackling male-perpetrated violence and the culture that enables it.

We understand that male violence is part of a pyramid of sexual harassment of women and that each stage is intrinsically linked.

Beyond Equality are an expert organisation with a programme of workshops with the goal of working with men and boys towards gender equality, inclusive communities, and healthier relationships. Their workshop ‘Masculinities in the Workplace’ will act as an introduction to allyship by:

• highlighting the ways in which masculinity can affect behaviour in the workplace and beyond;

• equipping us with strategies for mitigating negative impacts of masculinities in the workplace;

• and discussing how allyship is a framework to build into long term strategies and facilitate cultural change.

The workshop will be run by Dan Guinness, Director of Beyond Equality.

The event will be open to men only.
