Get Hands On with Thermoplastics: Create, Shape & Sculpt!
Join us for a 3 hour course where you'll dive into the world of thermoplastic materials like Worbla and Veraform. Learn how to craft and customize your own face coverings and headpieces using these versatile materials. By the end, you’ll have your own unique creation and the skills to keep exploring thermoplastics on your own.
What to Expect:
Led by expert prop maker Matti, this workshop covers everything from material basics to advanced techniques like sculpting and adding texture. All materials are provided, and you'll leave with your custom piece. No prior experience needed!
What You’ll Learn:
Before diving into your project, we’ll cover the basics:
Material Basics: Introduction to Veraform and Worbla, their differences, and how they’re used
Vacuum Forming: What it is and how it works
Demos including how to use Worbla and Varaform to cast faces and bases
Project Time: Create your own face covering using Worbla or Veraform, then customize it by adding texture, trinkets, and other fun elements
Finishing Touches: Learn how to spray paint and dry brush for a polished look
You'll Build:
A customized face covering (small mask) made from your choice of Worbla or Veraform, with added details and textures.
Practical Info:
Arrive 15 minutes early to get fitted for an apron and receive your supplies
Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy, this is a hands-on course!
Bring a sketchbook if you have one. This is not necessary.
