Join local artist Janis Hart to learn a range of mask making skills.
As part of this course, you will learn traditional clay moulding and plaster casting techniques - sculpt your mask in in clay, cast it, fabricate it and add your own decoration. You will take home a hand made mask to keep or perhaps give as a very special gift. You will learn sculpting, casting and moulding techniques which have been used by mask makers in Italy for centuries – but which can be used to make any style of mask – it’s up to you!
The tutor, Janis Hart is a theatre designer and maker, with many years experience. This course is part of 'Scenehouse' theatre skills series. The price of the course is part of an introductory April & May discounted offer.
Materials will be provided, no previous experience is neccessary, just a willingness to try things out and enjoy!
Age range - Adults and older teenagers.
Please note: this is a 4 week course that runs each Sunday, 2-6.30pm, from 14 May - 4 June at a cost of £60 / £48 concession for all four classes.
