Masked-up Mozart in Bloomsbury
Event Information
About this Event
Members of the London Novello Ensemble - Gavin Davies (violin) Emma Sheppard (viola) David Robinson (cello) and NIcholas Durcan (piano) are excited to present a live, socially distanced concert at one of London’s finest Baroque buildings, St George’s Church in Bloomsbury.
The programme includes one of Mozart's most celebrated chamber works: the Piano Quartet in g minor, alongside the tuneful and atmospheric Piano Quartet by the underrated Spanish composer Joaquin Turina. Also included are Schubert's one movement string trio, Mozart's Duo in b flat and the glitzy Handel-Halvorsen Passacaglia.
In accordance with tier 2 requirements, tickets must be purchased in advance and will be strictly limited to 50 tickets. Seats will be individually spaced and you may only sit together with members of your own household or support bubble.
We kindly ask that all attendees wear a facemask unless exempt. These may only be removed during the performance, whilst you are seated.
Designed by Hawksmoor and opened in 1730, the church is a short walk from Holborn underground station though we would encourage you only to use public transport if necessary.
As we are unable to serve refreshments, there will be a short comfort break halfway through the concert rather than a full interval. Please arrive in plenty of time to help us maintain distancing on entering the building, and take note of the queuing systems that the church have in place.
In the unlikely event of London being changed to tier 3, the concert will be postponed and all tickets will be automatically refunded in full. If you develop any symptoms or learn that you may have been exposed to Covid, please do not come to the concert but contact us regarding a refund.
Please don't be discouraged by the instructions above: your safety is our prime concern, and adherence to these guidelines should ensure that this concert will be safer than a supermarket or restaurant. We are very excited to be able to finally play these pieces as the composers intended: in a live performance, and we hope you can join us!
