Safeguarding in Sport Master Class - Duration 5 Hours.

Free event for Bristol based organisations only.

Why attend this training?

This session will provide a comprehensive introduction to safeguarding in sport.

Who is it for?

Staff who with an understanding of basic safeguarding and want to develop an in-depth knowledge of how it applies in sport based on UK and International best practice.

Learning outcomes by the end of the training:

  • Historical context and background based on UK and International case studies.
  • Contemporary research and case studies from sports bodies across the world.
  • Identify vulnerabilities of young people.
  • Recognise the potential of local sport and community groups.
  • Identify the prevalence of violence and abuse in sport.
  • Identify the positive role of coaches in safeguarding.
  • Identifying good practice and how this may influence change in our organisations.

This training is compliant with Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) Standards and meets the requirements of Working Together 2015 and Keeping Safe in Education 2016. The course has been revised to include bespoke information relevant to organisations in the community sports and activity sector.

Safe Club mentors and trainers have a wealth of experience and expertise, coming from law enforcement and social services backgrounds. We also work with a dedicated team of specially trained local Safeguarding Ambassadors who are on hand to give you advice and guidance specifically about your club. www.safeclub.org.uk
