To explore the place of nutrition in specialist palliative care, consider the use of nutritional screening tools and share good practice. This session will consider nutrition in both malignant and non-malignant conditions.
Learn about the place of food and nutrition in palliative care
Develop an understanding of about nutritional screening tools and assessment
Learn about nutritional treatment including the impact of cachexia
Learn how to build a dietetic service and about the role of the dietitian in palliative care
Multi-professional staff in hospices or healthcare who have an interest in nutrition in a palliative care setting.

Caroline Quilty is an HCPC registered dietitian with extensive clinical and management experience in both the NHS and hospice settings. She is currently joint Interim Head of Supportive Care at St Joseph’s Hospice.
