Description

An introduction to setting up and running a self-management and support programme using trained volunteers based on the successful model of the Empowered Living Team (ELT) project in the London Borough of Newham.

Participants will:

  • Explore effective use of volunteers to support rehabilitative programmes and self-management for patients

  • Learn about the evolution of Empowered Living Team: from concept to action and successes so far

  • Consider the essential elements for success including volunteer recruitment, training, and management, clinical operations, risk management and project evaluation

  • Learn how to develop an effective business case for their own projects.

All delegates will receive a toolkit with essential information and frameworks for setting up a volunteer self-management project.
