Exclusively for coaches with at least two years’ experience, whether Meyler Campbell qualified or not, these brand new workshops will help you integrate a deeper understanding of a variety of selected techniques and methodologies into your coaching practice. They will be given by external experts and will be a blend of training and participative discussion of how you can apply what you’ve learned with your own clients.
This exciting new Masterclass for experienced coaches looking to enhance their skills base will elaborate on the issue of the dark side, the factors that contribute to a surprisingly high level of Leadership Derailment. What are the things that might have helped our clients rise through the ranks and become successful, and that now, paradoxically, threaten to bring them down? Characteristics like arrogance, callousness and volatility, which previously may have been lauded as confidence, determination and authenticity, can loom large in knocking leaders and senior executives seriously off track. How can you identify these traits and how can you coach clients effectively on their ‘dark side’? This interactive workshop will explore how to support clients in owning their derailers and taking steps to mitigate their impact and in some cases, avert disaster.
Our Master Coach for this event is Adrian Furnham, Professor of Psychology at University College London. Professor Furnham has lectured and held visiting professorships and scholarships around the world, including the Universities of New South Wales, the West Indies, Hong Kong and KwaZulu-Natal and the Norwegian School of Management. He is an incredibly prolific and disciplined writer: he ‘scribbles’, as he puts it, 1000 words every day and has a result, has published 86 books as well as having a weekly column in The Sunday Times and producing scores of peer-reviewed papers. Like Noel Coward, he believes work is more fun than fun and considers himself to be a well-adjusted workaholic. He enjoys travelling to exotic countries, consulting on real-life problems, arguing at dinner parties and going to the theatre.
This Masterclass will immerse you in the fascinating investigation of some of the less pleasant characteristics we encounter in business and give you the confidence to go into some of the darker, shadier areas of your clients’ mindsets.
