Event description

Description

Many coaches refer to ‘walking and talking’, but coaching outdoors is so much more than that. This Masterclass with Catherine Gorham is a unique opportunity to discover how to use nature as a dynamic partner in the coaching process. Learn how to build psychological safety in an open space and work with a fellow participant to experience what it’s like to coach and be coached in the outdoors – more specifically the beautiful setting of Regent’s Park. Use your reflections during the session to inform your choices around whether and how to integrate outdoor coaching into your own practice and/or invite nature into your indoor sessions.

This Masterclass will give you a theoretical foundation for the appropriateness and powerful effects of coaching outdoors. It will also equip you to invite a deeper level of personal awareness for both yourself as a coach and your client, at a body level as well as cognitively.

Catherine Gorham is an experienced executive coach, supervisor and consultant on leadership and complex change. She won the Most Outstanding Leadership Coach UK Award in 2017. Catherine likes to build an authentic relationship with her clients, taking care to pay attention to what the space looks like between coach and coachee.

Previously an internal consultant in challenging organisational contexts such as the NHS and Home Office, Catherine now runs her own private practice. This includes the role of Master Coach for a charity developing individuals to be social workers and leaders of transformation. Catherine draws on an eclectic mix of frameworks including TA, Gestalt and NLP. Her passion for the natural world has led her to integrate this into her coaching and supervision practice. Catherine’s greatest personal achievement was climbing Snowdon after being wheelchair bound with ME in her 20s – even then, nature was a supportive facilitator!
