Masterclass with Gillian Hyde: COACHING THE DARK SIDE

Have you ever felt that your coachee would be more successful if they could face up to some of their interpersonal shortcomings? Is their reputation as a leader in doubt? This Masterclass with Gillian Hyde will provide you with an introduction to a framework and a language to delve into the ‘dark side’ of personality. Gillian will illustrate the model through insightful examples of how coaching around the dark side can help to positively enhance a leader’s reputation.

Nearly everyone has aspects of their personality that can become counterproductive when pushed to an extreme; ultimately these can derail our careers. A clearer awareness of our potential derailers helps us face up to the negative impact we can have on other people and that may be stalling our career progression. Coaching around the dark side can help us to interact more effectively, to enhance our reputation as leaders and to increase our chances of building high performing teams

A Chartered Psychologist with more than 25 years’ experience, Gillian Hyde has deep expertise in assessing leadership derailment and creating personality assessments. She also consults on the management of extreme personality characteristics for individual and team development and researches derailment patterns within organisations. As Chief Psychologist at Psychological Consultancy Ltd, Gillian has worked with a diverse range of organisations including UBS, HBoS, Standard Chartered, Virgin Media, HMRC, The British Council and BMW. She has a BSc in Psychology from UCL, an MPhil in Criminology from Cambridge and an MSc in Occupational and Organisational Psychology from Birkbeck College, London. Gillian has served on the Steering Committee for Test Standards for the British Psychological Society and is a founder member of the Association of Business Psychologists. A keen, but aging (!), runner, she is proud to have run two sub two-hour half marathons since turning 50.
