If your organisation does not have a safeguarding policy or your policy needs to be updated and you need support in developing it, then this course is for you.

This Master-Class is aimed at those who are responsible for policy development and leads for safeguarding. To attend this course you must have a basic understanding of safeguarding children.

This course is for:

  • Managers and designated safeguarding leads in the third sector

  • Tenant Resident Association members

  • Trustees

  • Sports clubs

  • Providers of services in the adult social care sector

  • Volunteers

This half-day Master -class course will help you to understand the importance of having a safeguarding policy, how to write one and will provide you with useful tips on how to implement it across your organisation.

You will be provided with an in-depth overview of the:

  • What is safeguarding and why it is important

  • Requirements placed on your organisation according to the Children Act, Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006, Working together to safeguard children (2015) etc.

  • Information Sharing and Recording

  • How to translate policy into practice

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the course participants will:

  • Have knowledge of safeguarding legislation and Charity Commission, City and Hackney Safeguarding Board requirements

  • Gain a solid understanding of the core areas of a safeguarding policy

  • Develop the skills needed to write a sound safeguarding policy

  • Have strengthened their overall understanding of how to implement and make a safeguarding policy a 'living' document within their organisation.
