Exclusively for coaches with at least two years’ experience, whether Meyler Campbell qualified or not, these brand new workshops will help you integrate a deeper understanding of a variety of selected techniques and methodologies into your coaching practice. They will be given by external experts and will be a blend of training and participative discussion of how you can apply what you’ve learned with your own clients.
This important new Masterclass for experienced coaches will look at the vital issue of mental health and its inter relationship with coaching. We know that clients need to be well in order for them to be coached but what does that mean and how can we tell? Research suggests that as many as one in four of us will be affected by mental health challenges in any one year, and with the political spotlight recently shining on the subject, this has never been a more topical concern. What are the warning signs we should we look out for, as coaches, leaders, friends and colleagues? What resources can we bring as coaches, where do the boundaries lie and when do we need to call on other support for our clients?
Tackling these critical points, our Master Coach for the day is Richard Martin. Richard will share relevant examples and case studies, as well as his own story of having his life knocked sideways by a mental breakdown. Drawing on his studies in psychotherapy and counselling, as well as the work he leads at byrne-dean around mental health and wellbeing, Richard will guide us through the often troubling and confusing scenario of how best to help a client with poor or deteriorating mental health. Richard joined byrne-dean after a 20-year career in employment law with City and international firms. He leads byrne-dean’s work around mental health and wellbeing, working with clients to raise awareness across their organisations, to train line managers to spot issues in their teams and have the necessary conversations, and to train mental health first aiders. He sits on the Steering Committee of the Lord Mayor of London’s This is Me in the City campaign.
This Masterclass will take you to the tough coal face of mental health issues. It might be an uncomfortable subject for many, but in today’s reality, it’s not one you can afford to ignore.
