and author and trainer Professor Neil Thompson
Herman de Monnink has been a social work educator for over 35 years at Hanze University Groningen and he is a trauma psychologist within his private practice. His new book proposes a practice model for positioning social work as a human needs and a human right profession and social workers as the professionals.
Professor Thompson has over 30 years social work experience and is a well-published and highly respected author. He is an experienced trainer, consultant and international conference speaker. Professor Thompson also manages the Avenue Professional Development Programme, an innovative, subscription-based online learning community geared towards promoting self-directed lifelong learning (www.apdp.org.uk).
The book offers tools using a combination of well described methods and will be available for purchase after the event. Authors will be happy to sign and these will be provided, at a reduced rate, through Blackwell’s Bookshop.
This lecture is part of the North West Midland Social Work Teaching Partnership, Social Work CPD programme.
It is open to all in the NWMSWTP along with other placement providers.
Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
