Event description

Description

Presented by: Dr Joanne Hart and Dr Lucie Byrne-Davis

Background

Whether striving to improve your own teaching, evidencing the impact of your innovations or curiosity about pedagogy, doing evaluation or research on your teaching can be challenging. Often excellent researchers in their own fields and excellent teachers can find it hard to apply robust research methods to exploring their teaching and student learning.

Masterclass overview (3 hours)

This Masterclass will take participants through distinguishing between evaluation and research, developing an appropriate question, planning and conducting a study, data analysis and publication.

Intended learning outcomes

At the end of the session you will be able to:

  • Explore the differences and benefits of conducting evaluation or research
  • Understand how to develop an appropriate pedagogic research question
  • Explore relevant and appropriate research methodology
  • Share and evaluate examples of educational research

Refreshments will be provided
