Masterclass with Caroline Miller, CEO of Birmingham Royal Ballet
Social entrepreneurs find sustainable solutions that create social value.
Join iSE on the 24th April for a masterclass with business radical and world-acclaimed social entreprenuer Sophi Tranchell, founder of Divine Chocolate UK, the only chocolate company in the world which is 100% Fairtrade and owned by cocoa farmers.
Sophi founded Divine Chocolate in 1998 with the aim of ensuring farmers in the developing world get better prices and working conditions. Sophi is a Fairtrade pioneer, Social Enterprise Ambassador, Chair of Fairtrade London, London Food Board member and winner of the Schwab Social Entrepreneur of the Year – the most prestigious international award for social innovation.
We'll be quizzing Sophi on how she built up Divine Chocolate to be the brand it is, her approach to good business and empowering communities, social innovation, and alternative finance - and you'll get the chance to ask any questions you may have,
Sophi will then judge the entries for our DIVINE GREAT BAKE competition and declare a winner! All bakes will be donated to Birmingham's Choir With No Name in support of the homeless.
This event is part of Birmingham's CITY DRIVE 2018, a programme to raise awareness of social enterprise in Birmingham. To find out more or to register your interest in baking go to www.i-se.co.uk
