WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND
This two-day intensive program is designed to give participants both conceptual grounding and practical skills in advanced echocardiography.
Day 1 builds the foundations with strain and speckle tracking, essential 2D-TEE views, and simulator-based training on normal anatomy. It also introduces cutting-edge 3D-TTE acquisition and display techniques, complemented by live demonstrations and hands-on practice using the Epiq CVx platform. The day concludes with focused workstation sessions on chamber quantification and offline analysis, ensuring attendees leave with immediately applicable skills.
Day 2 shifts to clinical applications, covering 2D/3D-TEE in mitral, aortic, prosthetic valve, and ASD/closure interventions, followed by simulator-based pathology training. It further explores TEE’s critical role in structural interventions such as TAVI, Mitral Clip, and LAA closure, reinforced by hands-on workstation sessions dedicated to valvular quantification. With its balance of expert lectures, live demos, and practical simulator training, this agenda equips participants with the confidence and technical expertise to elevate their echocardiography practice.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this two-day intensive course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the principles and clinical applications of strain and speckle tracking.
- Perform and interpret standard 2D-TEE views with confidence.
- Acquire and analyze 3D-TTE datasets using advanced imaging platforms such as the Epiq CVx.
- Apply TEE techniques in the assessment of valvular heart disease, prosthetic valves, paravalvular leaks, and structural interventions.
- Gain proficiency in simulator-based training for both normal anatomy and pathological findings.
- Use UWS post-processing stations to perform offline chamber quantification, cropping, and valvular quantification.
- Integrate imaging results into clinical practice to support therapeutic decision-making in interventions such as TAVI, Mitral Clip, and LAA closure.
Course Outcomes
Participants completing this course will:
- Acquire advanced practical skills in both 2D and 3D echocardiography and TEE imaging.
- Demonstrate improved accuracy in diagnosing and evaluating a wide range of cardiac pathologies.
- Be equipped to support complex interventional cardiology procedures with precise echocardiographic guidance.
- Enhance their ability to interpret advanced imaging datasets and integrate findings into routine clinical workflows.
- Earn CME accreditation (in process) and recognition of their advanced echocardiography training.
