About this event

  • Event lasts 8 hours

The course is aimed at trainees, ST1-ST6, providing the relevant knowledge and skills to adequately mange neurosurgical on-calls and ultimately help improve patient care. Content will include:

  • What a consultant expects from a junior registrar on-call
  • Lessons learned from experienced trainees
  • Top tips and how to do well
  • The difference between adult and paediatrics
  • Case-based scenarios including the hectic on-call, common logistical challenges as well as on-call scenarios.

As one of the more daunting aspects of the role of a Neurosurgical Registrar, the primary aim of this course is to help to improve the ability to manage often difficult and challenging cases in a simulation environment and share your experiences with like minded colleagues to gain further understanding and additional skills to manage situations expertly. The course faculty will provide case scenarios and encourage delegates to share experiences in practical interactive workshop sessions and provide constructive feedback throughout the course.
