Mastery and Greater Depth in Primary Mathematics

What does it mean to master mathematics in Primary School?
How can children make excellent progress without accelerating through the next years curriculum?
How do pupils become reasonably good at reasoning?
Why is problem solving such a problem?
This course aims to bust some myths around teaching and learning through a mastery curriculum. Teachers will be equipped to plan , teach and assess rich engaging maths lessons where mastery and greater depth is achieved regularly.

This is a free to attend CPD opportunity open to Primary teachers, maths leads and senior leaders, working in schools in the Northumberland, Tyne, Wear and Durham.
Participants are expected to complete a short pre course questionnaire, and another reflection a month after the session.
Refreshments are provided, and there is plenty of free parking at the Village Hotel
Please Note: To ensure that funding is used effectviely, cancellations within 1 week of the course date, non-attendance or failure to return the evaluations, will be charged at £30 per person, invoiced to the school.
