Join us for a special workshop of Japanese flower arranging called Ikebana. ‘Living Flowers’ is the Japanese art of flower arrangement, also known as kadō. The ‘Way of Flowers’ is characterised by freedom and spontaneity.
It expresses the natural beauty which is part of the setting for the tea ceremony. The tea master’s duty ends with the selection of the flowers to tell their own story.
On the day, Ikebana teacher Fumiko-san, will teach you the methodology of arranging the flowers, and the materials that are required.
You’ll start with preparing the flowers before learning how to place them correctly in a vase. Finally, a heady and intense Matcha tea is served, offering an experience like no other.
Ticket price includes flowers to take home, Matcha and Japanese sweets.
