Event description
Do your students love maths but not sure where it could take them? Join mathematicians in a range of fields for a Q&A

About this event

We will be speaking to people who have taken their passion for maths into a range of industries beyond the assumed finance and maths teaching!

Each person will be telling us a bit about their career including about their role and how they got there. This will include people from the world of forensic science, conservation and big data.

There will be time at the end for a short Q&A.

Our guests will include:

Joyce Klu

Joyce is a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant in Statistics at the Leverhulme Centre for Forensic Science (LRCFS) at the University of Dundee. At LRCFS Joyce uses her knowledge of statistics to probe existing statistical methodologies in forensic science in order to find improvements.

Prior to joining LRCFS, Joyce worked as a Trial Medical Statistician at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford and a Research Assistant in Data Science at the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development, University of Reading.

Caitlin Cunningham

Caitlin works for Nature Scot and is passionate about maths. She has been working on a project called Blue Carbon which focuses on coastal habitats.

Nitesh Aidasani-Khyami
