About this event

This event will be hosted by Jane Dhillon and the Maths Steering Group

Face to face conference consisting of evidence-based discussion and expert-led CPL.

In our first conference we will deepen our understanding of unit planning, the maths (generalisations) and the DSAT Maths TLA Blueprint. We will also revisit Number Sense tracker. Focussed hub work will enable effective implementation by subject leaders back in their schools/hubs.

Pre Reading: Please ensure you take some time to look at the pre-reads. We have looked at these before but I would be keen for us to have a retrieval/revisit – they are fabulous and encapsulate a lot in a few clear words!

Please also make sure you have access:

  1. to your school’s 2025-2026 academy improvement plan (AIP)
  2. you hub’s Hub Improvement Plan (HIP) as this has TWO math aspects on it.
  3. On the day, we will be circling back to Number Sense tracker and assessing implementation (from Sep EY / Y1 / Y2)

As always, please also ensure you bring a laptop and your lunch – refreshments will be provided.

Enquiry Question: how do we enable all children to think mathematically within mastery lesson design, and how do we effectively implement this?

Desired outcomes:

1. To improve maths subject knowledge (unit overview planning)

2. To deepen understanding of maths teaching (mastery lesson design)

3. To increase the impact of maths subject leadership (schools)

4. To effectively collaborate within hubs (maths HIP)
