Maths Impacts, kindly sponsored by Bloomberg, is our key event for students studying Mathematics at Queen Mary University of London, and organised in conjunction with our School of Mathematical Sciences and the student-led Maths Society.
The event is focused on highlighting the usage of mathematics in a range of occupations and will begin at 1pm with a keynote speech on 'Using Mathematics to Deliver Business and Markets Information” from Bloomberg.
After this there will be a series of workshops which will highlight how maths is used in a range of roles.
Workshops will be conducted by:
Bloomberg: a company that delivers business and markets news, data, analysis, and video to the world, featuring stories from Businessweek and Bloomberg News.
Willis Towers Watson: a leading global advisory and broking company that helps clients around the world manage risk.
NMPi: an award-winning digital marketing agency. The company's sole aim is to help ambitious brands create a step change in their online performance.
This will be followed by a networking session over drinks and food where you can meet with all the attendees.
All students are required to attend the key note presention in the Octagon at 1pm. This will be followed by a break out session in one of the workshops below. Please select ONE of the following workshops you will attend by selecting the relevant ticket. You will be notified of the room your workshop will take place in at the keynote event at 1pm.
