Description

Gone to Ground, Maurice Leitch’s first new novel since Seeking Mr Hare, is a gripping portrait of Spain in the aftermath of its Civil War and explores how individuals act while living under a dictatorship. Gone to Earth is a historical novel that raises issues as pertinent today, it is perceptive and compassionate.

ABOUT GONE TO GROUND:

A civil war leaves behind many secrets. On the Torremolinos coast survivors of Spain’s Civil War and those foreigners with reasons of their own to fear the past gather in the Hotel Miramar to drink and forget. Johnnie Ray tries to ignore his fading fame, while Eugene Furlong hides his past as one of Franco’s soldiers. However, Franco’s police are hunting those ghosts who remain hidden in this new Spain.
