Event description

**This event is open to HPMA London Academy Members Only**

- Are you currently in a band 4 - 5 role and keen to develop your career into becoming either a functional specialist or an HR Business Partner?

- Would you like to develop your personal impact, confidence and influencing skills with colleauges?

If yes, then this half day workshop is for you! This year we are continuing to run the 'Emerging Workforce Leaders' strand of our programme aimed at bands 4-5 HR/L&D practitioners which will include three sessions. Two sessions (one half day and one full day) will be about maximising personal impact and there will be a further day on developing your impact on the business. You are welcome to attend one or more sessions. This first session will be repeated - there will be one session in the morning for max 35 people and then we'll repeat the sesison in the afternoon for another group of max 35.

Our plan is that it will be a fast paced, high impact session using actors to create workplace challenges.

This session, targetted specifically to bands 4 & 5 HR and OD practitioners, is a practical exploration of maximising impact in communication skills, with a specific focus on influencing and resilience, using professional actors and scenarios written to look at specific challenges faced by emerging workforce leaders.

• Establish why and how the ability to influence is relevant in your job role

• Explore how you can adapt your influencing skills for different situations, audiences and workplace contexts
• Recognise common challenges and pitfalls that workplace influencers face. See these scenarios in action, using forum theatre, and work as part of a peer group to exercise change and experience success.
• Identify ways of successfully demonstrating resilience, specifically when faced with challenging situations and overcoming conflict
• Develop an understanding of how you can adapt, develop and deliver your own personal style as an influential leader

By the end of the session, you will have a better understanding of how to confidently communicate in order to maximise your impact as a leader and an individual. You will have identified specific approaches and key skills as an influencer. You will have established the resilience to apply these skills in live case studies and in going forward to meet everyday workplace scenarios. This workshop will afford you the opportunity to discuss the importance, relevance and practicalities of maximising your impact, to practically apply key skills and understand common challenges influencers face on a regular basis.

Target audience: Bands 4 and 5
