Social Value in development and the built environment has traditionally focused on apprenticeships, job creation and training. However Housing Associations and others can go much further and embrace social value to consider impacts on wellbeing, and incorporation into decision making.

A number of recent reports from the UK Green Building Council, Trowers and RealWorth and Updated Social Value Act Guidance have joined a growing body of evidence to highlight the need to think of Social Value as a concept which can help decision making, community consultation and drive resident satisfaction.

We will be joined by organisations at the cutting edge of this of this agenda including RealWorth and Simetrica, looking at how we embrace the opportunities presented by the Social Value Agenda and discuss how we can;

• Raise awareness of what is possible regarding social value in development.
• Showcase and discuss how social value is being used innovatively across the country.
• Inspire thinking about maximising social value within development and build it into their thinking from the start and see it through to completion.

The session will be hosted by James Williams Head of Social Impact at HACT has over 20 years experience in Community Investment and has led community consultations to maximise social value across a number of Housing Association led schemes across the Northwest of England.

Attendees and speakers include Phil Higham from RealWorth, and Daniel Fujiwara from Simetrica.

The roundtable will be also be an opportunity to tour the award winning Halton Housing Trust offices.
