Description

The Saturday sessions provide a range of CPD to develop teachers within your school.

The programme of 5 Saturday training days gives classroom based practitioners and school leaders the opportunity to listen to high profile guest speakers, bringing the national agenda of education to Cornwall. The Saturday CPD sessions target classroom teachers through practical teaching and learning workshops, as well as developing a toolkit for current/aspiring middle and senior leaders.

Each day will be charged at £100 per delegate

Venue: Penrice Academy, Charlestown Road, St Austell, PL25 3NR

Time: 9am – 2pm (unless otherwise stated)

With guest speaker Marc Rowland, Head of Research School - Rosendale Primary

The session will focus on improving outcomes for disadvantaged learners, highlighting the importance of the whole school approach. The session is underpinned by research evidence and looks at the following essential components of a successful strategy;

  • Leadership, culture and values
  • High expectations
  • Understanding barriers to learning and how they present in the classroom
  • Targeted, evidence informed strategies to overcome barriers (focusing on T&L)
  • Relationships
  • Impact evaluation
  • Accountability
