Maximising the contribution of volunteers

Volunteers are more than another pair of hands. They bring expertise and skills, different ways of thinking, and opportunities for a charity’s supporters to contribute towards its activities. But what can your charity do to ensure that it is making best use of the many different qualities that volunteers could bring to your organisation?

Whether your charity already runs a volunteering scheme or would like to extend its existing use of volunteers, this workshop focuses on how to maximise their contribution to your charity's activities.

This workshop will cover:

  • How to ensure your charity is "volunteering ready."
  • How to attract and recruit the right volunteers.
  • How to retain volunteers and how to say goodbye kindly if their services are no longer needed.
  • The wider benefits of volunteering for the communities you serve, your volunteers and your organisation.

This is an interactive session, and will use case studies, the group learning and best practice to how you understand the key steps that are essential to running a successful volunteering scheme.

This workshop is suitable for those looking to start a volunteering programme, those looking to expand their volunteering programme or those who have not reaped the benefits that they anticipated from operating a volunteering scheme.
