Event description

Description

This retreat combines yoga, mindfulness, walking and creativity, and is designed to help you relax, stretch and rejuvenate your body, mind and soul, and revive you at many levels as a human being. Take a break from your busy life and join us for a wonderful long bank holiday weekend in the beautiful, majestic Lake District. There are 3 long guided walks, 5 yoga sessions and plenty more on the timetable to really pamper yourself. Glenthorne is a beautiful house in Grasmere. Two minutes walk from quaint and chic Grasmere with it’s many quality gift and book shops, a garden centre, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants.

Glenthorne offers a wide range of accommodation: double, twin, single and family rooms, the majority of which are en-suite; all are simply and comfortably furnished. Most rooms have access to free Wi-Fi. A comfortable lounge and sun room is a place to relax where afternoon tea and cake is served, with tea and coffee facilities available throughout the day.

The weekend will include four 90-minute yoga classes taught by yoga teacher, Sherin Shefik, who will mainly teach vinyasa flow yoga, but also combines lots of different styles of yoga into her teaching, plus a yoga nidra session with i-rest practitioner, Deborah Wharton. There are numerous mindfulness meditations, practices and discussions, which will be led by mindfulness teachers Deborah Wharton and Shenel Shefik. There will be other diverse and exciting activities on the programme too, a poetry workshop (where you will get to try your hand at writing a poem), mindful dance (you might be given a blind-fold!), and a life coaching workshop. There will be two 4/5 mile walks around the local hills and lakes with a packed lunch guide by Nigel Harding, an experienced hill walker. There will be a final optional walk on Monday (depending on your journey times) which we will then conclude in a loacl pub.

The variety and fullness of this programme means that there is something for everyone, whether you come alone or with your partner or friends/family. All sessions are, of course, optional so you can pick and choose as you flow through the weekend.
