Delivering change for a sustainable future city
A Mayoral Hustings organised by Bristol Green Capital Partnership CIC, Bristol Cycling Campaign, Bristol Pound, Friends of the Earth and Sustrans
This hustings is an important opportunity to listen to the plans and ideas of the mayoral candidates. The future Mayor will play a leading role in delivering a city that is focused on a low carbon future with a high quality of life for all. The event is designed to encourage and explore a deep insight into the issues and to get beyond the usual rhetoric.
We are pleased to confirm that the following candidates will be joining us for this event: Tony Dyer, Green; Marvin Rees, Labour; Kay Barnard, Liberal Democrat; George Ferguson, Independent.
The event will centre on four key themes with questions curated by event organisers, as well as questions submitted in advance. All questions will be focused on the themes of: Sustainable Transport & Active Travel; Energy & Climate Change; local economy; environment & the aim of achieving a low carbon city with a high quality of life for all.
If you have a question relating to any of the above themes that you would like to be asked please tell us using this online form: http://goo.gl/forms/JBx1gXs6oX
We cannot guarantee that all questions will be asked.
There will be opportunities to participate by joining the conversation on Twitter - follow #BrisFuturesMayor on 20th April.

The lead host for this event is the Bristol Green Capital Partnership CIC in recognition of the important role of the political process in creating the future of the city. Equally it is important to recognise that the event, and the Partnership activity in general, is not affiliated with, or in support of, any particular political party or individual candidate.
Our hustings and events are organised from a position of political neutrality and within the guidance laid down by the regulatory framework.
Please note: Invitations to candidates to take part in this hustings were issued based on the highest five positions in the vote share of the 2012 Bristol Mayor election. This will ensure that there is adequate time to allow each candidate a fair chance to answer questions and a reasonable opportunity to respond to points raised by other candidates.
This decision was based on advice given by the Electoral Commission in relation to the running of time limited non-selective hustings. We will inform the audience at the Mayoral Hustings of candidates standing including those who have not been invited.
