In Basingstoke and Deane, it is tradition to hold an annual Civic Sunday Service for the new incoming Mayor. At the service, past Mayor’s, Mayoresses, residents, councillors, and other dignitaries join the service to welcome to the town and borough.

The Civic Sunday Service for this year has been arranged slightly later on a Saturday to coincide with the opening of St Michael’s Church, Basingstoke, after extensive renovations, it was felt a great time to celebrate both the opening and the new Mayor, Cllr Colin Phillimore in his role as Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane. The service will take place on Saturday 11 October 2025 at 6pm to be led by the St Michaels Rector, John Hudson. the service will last 1 hour with celebration drinks, refreshments and canapes afterwards in the church.

Everyone is welcome.

Tickets are FREE on a first come, first served basis. Each booking has been limited to a maximum of six.
