Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham will hold a question time event in the week before every Combined Authority meeting, in the area in which the meeting will be held.

The question time event is on Thursday, 28 October and will be held at The Fusilier Museum, Bury.

Partnered with key regional media, the event aims to highlight and answer questions on local issues, posted by members of the public. 

This is your opportunity to have a voice on the concerns that matter to you.

- You can attend the session and pre-ask your question when you apply for tickets.

- You can join in remotely by either emailing your questions to questiontime@greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk or through twitter on #AskAndyGM

- You can attend the session and ask your question in person

Over the next twelve months, Andy will call a question time with each local authority in Greater Manchester.

The next event will be held at The Fusilier Museum, Bury and opens at 7pm. You will need to be seated by 7:20pm as we will be starting promptly at 7:30pm. The session will be live streamed onto the Mayor's Facebook page @MayorofGM 

We may run out of time to ask all questions that have been raised. If this is the case, we will try and combine similar or related questions together.

You must submit your question for the event by Monday, 25 October. These will be sent to the host of the event who will shortlist them in advance to make sure we have a range of subjects covered. The Mayor does not see any questions in advance of the event. 

Ticket sales will end on Wednesday 27 October at 23:30.

Covid Safety Measures

We are asking a few things of people who wish to attend the event, this is to help to keep you and others safe.

• If you book a place to attend this event we want you to have either received a full vaccination (first & second dose) & with the second dose administered at least 14 days before you attend OR a negative lateral flow test taken within 48 hours of attendance.

• If you feel unwell then you need to stay at home & self-isolate.

• If you test positive for COVID-19 in the days after the event, they need to enter the result in the national NHS app or call 119.

• Whilst face coverings are not mandatory, we are encouraging people to wear one if it makes you feel safer at the event.

In addition to this we will have hand sanitising stations at the venue and we will apply social distancing whenever practicable. We will also make sure posters are around the venue reminding people to socially distance whenever possible and to wear face coverings.

FAQs

I came last month - can I come again? We're asking that people don't attend more than two question time events in a six month period. This is just so that different people have an opportunity to come along and ask questions. Obviously, if you're not able to attend then you're still more than welcome to watch it online through the live stream and participate via #AskAndyGM on social media.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? No. But the event will be live streamed, so people who attend ideally need to be comfortable to sit for around an hour and half.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? The Fusilier Museum has parking spaces directly outside, and there are additional spaces at the nearby Bury Interchange and Q Park. If arriving from the motorway, take the M66 Jn2 exit and follow the brown tourism signs to East Lancashire Railway.

If arriving by bus, the venue is close to the Bury Interchange. The nearest Metrolink station is Bury, which is on the Yellow and Green lines.

What should I do if I have access requirements? When registering for the event you are given the chance to tell us any access requirements which may effect your experience at the question time. Will will use the information provided and try and accommodate around your needs.

The main entrance is step-free and level throughout.

What can I bring into the event? Yourself and your questions. You're also welcome to bring your phone in with you, so that you can join in with the questions online at the same time using the hashtag #AskAndyGM. But we do ask you to put it on silent, so not to disturb the live stream.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions? If you have any questions about the event itself, feel free to direct them towards - questiontime@greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk - equally, if you think of any questions that you want answering as part of the event, these can also be sent through to the same address.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? You don't need to have it printed, but an electronic copy of the ticket (via your smart phone / tablet) would be great, so that we can tick you off our attendee list and also identify if you are someone who has raised a question in advance.
