MBSR Saturday Course in Ayr
The very popular Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course will be delivered over 3 Saturdays in Ayrshire. You are expected to attend 3 full day sessions as well as participate in weekly, online tutorials via Youtube. The dates are as follows:-
Sat 17th September, 10am – 4pm
Sat 15th October, 10am – 4pm
Sat 19th November, 10am - 4pm – Silent Retreat (optional),
On Saturday 17th September you will be taught both formal and informal practices. These practices are to be implemented throughout the first 4 weeks until the second session. You will also be provided with a course booklet, CD and online weekly tutorials to continue the 8 week course.
On Saturday 15th October a progress review will be carried out. You will be supplied with course material to cover the last 4 weeks. Again, these practices are to be applied at home until the last session together.
Saturday 19th November is the last session. The full 5 hour day is spent in silence. All the mindfulness techniques you have acquired will be included. You are invited to bring a vegetarian dish to share with the group whilst you practice mindful eating.
The maximum number of participants will be 10 – 15 and the course donation is £200. You have the option to pay on the first day or pay by monthly instalments.

The course is entirely secular based upon the research and findings of Jon Kabat-Zinn.
The MBSR course has gone from strength to strength, with critical acclaim and support from the international medical community. Here within the UK, the Mental Health Foundation has lent its support and endorsed the course.
As well as being taught Mindfulness practices you have the opportunity to discuss these and your experience of practice with the group.
In addition to attending the course participants should be aware that home practice is also an important part of the course, and time should be set aside each day to practice Mindfulness.
This can be integrated into daily routines quite simply e.g. several times throughout the day take 5 Mindful breaths. Approach an activity mindfully e.g. brushing your teeth, eating a meal.
