About this Event
Muslim Charities Forum (MCF) working in partnership with The London Community Foundation (LCF) are delighted to announce another webinar session aimed at supporting UK charities who are eligible to apply to the London Community Response Fund.
This remote session will help delegates understand more about the newly-opened Wave 5 RENEWAL funding available from the London Community Response Fund and how small or new charities can maximise their chances of being successful in applying.
Led by MCF and LCF, you can expect to hear more about the themes and priorities for the Renewal programme, eligibility to apply, what makes a good application and what grant money can be spent on.
What is the London Community Response Fund?
The London Community Response is taking applications for grants of up to £50,000 to help groups support London-based charities and those working in the London area over the next 12 months, under their Wave 5 RENEWAL programme. This funding can be used for sustainable work and core costs.
Applications to the fund open on 14th January and will close on 15th February at 12 noon. Charities based in or operating in London who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to apply.
Powered by London Funders, over 65 funders have been working together to provide coordinated funding to support groups responding to the needs of the capital's communities during the covid-19 pandemic. Launched four days after the first lockdown started in March, the single application point for charities and community groups enables organisations to access funding from multiple funders in a fast and efficient way. So far, over £42m has been distributed to London’s civil society organisations through the collaboration, with over 70% grants were given to groups led by people from minority communities.

The London Community Foundation (LCF) has a long history of supporting BAME and disadvantaged communities across London through successful grant-making and charitable support.
In the COVID19 era, this partnership between MCF and LCF will help address the gap of Muslim-led and/or BAME-led organisations accessing mainstream funding.
The MCF research report 'The Neighbours Next Door' shows that only 16% of Muslim organisations have accessed grant funding during the Covid19 pandemic, despite a huge scale aid response with BAME communities being disproportionately affected by the virus. MCF and LCF are working together to provide support and skills to Muslim charities and open new avenues for discussion and understanding with grant-makers.
