Become a wildlife explorer for the day!

About this event

Explore bugs, winged wonders, wildflowers, beasties and reptiles in Three Hagges Woodmeadow with experts on our 'wildlife safaris'. A team of experienced naturalists, ecologists and nature watchers will take you on your own 'wildlife safari' giving you an exclusive opportunity to hear all about the thriving woodland ecosystem and the animals, flowers, plants and trees within it.

This event is for all ages and is free of charge, however, we would really welcome and be immensely grateful for a suggested donation of £4 per adult and £2 per child. You can donate in advance through our website using PayPal or a credit or debit card or you can donate on the day.

Pond Explorers - Join Angela Ferguson, Education Officer at Woodmeadow Trust on an amazing adventure to find the unseen world of wildlife beneath the waters edge.

Wild About Woodmeadow - What's in a woodmeadow? Join Professor Dave Raffaelli, Chair of Woodmeadow Trust and Dan Carne, Woodmeadow Officer at Woodmeadow Trust and find out how Three Hagges Woodmeadow was transformed from a 25-acre barley field into a beautiful biodiverse woodmeadow teeming with wildlife.

Bugs and Flowers Need Each Other - Join Dr Terry Crawford, Lepidopterist and Conchologist as he takes you a magical safari to discover the bugs and flowers that depend on each other.

Winged Wonders - Join Nick Hall, Lepidopterist and explore the woodmeadow for some of it's most colourful creatures. Learn about their miraculous metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly and how by recording their numbers and different species they can help in assessing the health of the environment.

Wild Things - Join Professor Alastair Fitter CBE FRS, Ecologist and find out all about the nature and wildlife that is home to Three Hagges Woodmeadow.

Mini Beasts - Join Dr Roger and Rosy Key, Entomologists and learn how to catch and ID the bugs and beasties in Three Hagges Woodmeadow.
