This workshop is designed specifically for nutrition health professionals who are committed to expanding their expertise in meal support and supervision.

What you'll learn:

Understand Current Research: Participants will be able to summarise the latest research on meal support and meal supervision in eating disorder treatment, including evidence-based practices and their impact on client recovery.

Identifying Stages of Meal Support:Participants will identify and differentiate between the different stages of meal support, supervision and understand how eating behaviours and beliefs can impact effective meal support .

Developing Key Meal Support Skills:

Participants will develop and demonstrate essential skills for providing effective meal support and supervision, focusing on pre-meal preparation, in-meal guidance, and post-meal processing, including active listening, non-judgmental communication and emotional management

Building Confidence in Meal Support:Participants will enhance their confidence in delivering meal support by engaging in role-play scenarios that cover supportive strategies before, during, and after meals, with opportunities for feedback and refinement.

Implementing Comprehensive Meal Support Strategies:Participants will gain knowledge on how to individualised meal support supervision strategies that incorporate pre-meal, in-meal, and post-meal approaches, drawing on current research, skill development, and peer feedback from the workshop.

Talia Cecchele - Your Facilitator:Talia Cecchele is a Registered Dietitian and Founder of Talia Cecchele Nutrition (TCN). She hasworked across the spectrum of eating disorder services from outpatient through to inpatient settings in both the private and public sectors in the UK and Australia. For the last seven years, Talia has provided both in-person and online meal support for clients at different stages of recovery in 1:1 and group formats and has facilitated supervision and training for other professionals within the services that she has worked.
