Description

The MEAM Learning Hub Programme

The MEAM learning hubs will bring together individuals from MEAM Approach and Fulfilling Lives areas to share knowledge and expertise, develop a network of peer support, consider challenges and celebrate the achievements of local partnerships.

Each event will be co-produced and co-facilitated by MEAM and experts by experience. They will:

  • Have a clear focus and target audience
  • Provide practical tools and resources
  • Reflect our shared behaviours and values as a network:
  • Focus on a whole systems approach to change, including opportunities for local influencing
  • Support and develop the movement for change

What are the aims of the day?

This hub will explore the topic of accessing mental health services and support for people experiencing multiple disadvantage.

Aims:

  • To improve advocacy skills around the mental capacity act and accessing mental health services for people with multiple needs.
  • To share good practice around the mental capacity act and accessing mental health services for people with multiple needs.
  • To work together to problem solve around challenging cases in relation to the mental capacity act and care act.

Training on the Mental Capacity Act and mental health advocacy for clients with multiple needs

Training will be provided by EASL Director, Barney Wells:

“The EASL team carry out expert multi-disciplinary mental health assessments in a way that reflects the situation of homeless people in London. We also deliver training and support so our partners can do more to address the mental health issues of their service users.

We are driven by our commitment to better understand and assess each individual’s particular issues and circumstances, in order to work collaboratively towards identifying the most appropriate path for them. We also hope to promote this approach among our partners.”
