Event description

Description

Music moves, and where it goes, Norient follows. The collective is back in London after launching last year’s Seismographic Sounds anthology - a dizzying collage of sonic, poetic and political energy as literally close to world-spanning as you can get.

DJ set: Kl.ne (Norient, Berlin)

Flying in from Berlin is Kl.ne (Philipp Rhensius), Norient editor, musicologist, musician (INRA, aphtc) and DJ. His sets bring bass, drone and erotic hi-hats into swampy, ecstatic exchange.

"Performing Research": Experiments by Thomas Burkhalter (Norient, Bern)

Thomas Burkhalter is Norient’s founder. He’ll be melting fragments from his explorations of Durban’s #Gqom house scene into an original sound piece, blurring lines between interview, DJ set and fantasy.

London’s Panenka (live) supports with vivid, acoustic landscapes.

Norient’s showcase is part of the Borders & Boundaries: Territories, Technologies, Transgressions conference at Goldsmiths (MeCCSA PGN 2017). We figured that to think these themes through, some dancing had to be involved.

NOTE: If you have registered for the Borders & Boundaries (£15-£20) conference you DO NOT HAVE TO REGISTER AGAIN for this event.

NOTE: DIY Space for London is a volunteer-run and member-supported venue, open to members and their guests only. You can become a member for £2.30 per year at diyspaceforlondon.org
